Review:
I absolutely loved this book. It's fresh and engaging, and the characters and creatures of this book are really interesting. I really liked the main protagonist; she's spunky, powerful and stubborn.

When I started reading this, I thought for a minute that I knew where things were going, but I quickly realized I didn't. There was also only a slight bit of romance in this book, which I very much appreciate.

The lore of this book is really fascinating, and I'm really curious to read more. It just felt so new and original, and very well crafted. I don't fully understand everything, I must admit, but I don't mind. Over explaining would just ruin it, so I can't wait to read the next book in this series!

I have to point out that I know a lot of people have been disappointed because this has been dubbed "the new Harry Potter". It isn't. Let's be real, nothing ever will be. This book is fantastic in its own way.

I would highly recommend this book to both young adults and adults, as I think it fits almost all ages. If you like the supernatural and fantasy, go get it!
