This is the second book in The Diviners series. You can read my review of the first book:
The Diviners.

As this is the second book in a series, this review might contain spoilers.

Summary:
After having outed herself as a Diviner, Evie O'Neill is America's sweetheart and the medias darling. But not everyone is as accepting of her powers...

Meanwhile, a mysterious sleeping sickness have been ravaging the city, and The Diviners need to descend into the dreamworld to catch the killer.

Review:
First and foremost, it's important to note that I have been looking forward to this book for an entire year, and so my expectations were very high. And in the end, I find myself so very happily satisfied!

The main storyline of this book is quite creepy, but there's a lot more character development than anything else. It's not so much about Evie anymore, but rather about the other characters. I really enjoyed that, and I love how diverse the group is.

As with the first book, I absolutely love the setting. The author really bring 1920's New York to life. There's also a much bigger mystery circling around the edges that I really can't wait to unravel.

Though perhaps not quite as extraordinary as the first book, this was a fantastic read. If you haven't gotten on The Diviners train yet, it's time to hop on.
