Review:
I feel a bit ambivalent about this book, and I have to say I'm a bit disappointed.

The first story was a bit of a mess for me. The second story I really liked and the third was pretty good, at least in the beginning. None of them blew me away though and I felt slightly confused most of the time. All of the stories have a nightmarish dream quality to them that I quite enjoyed and the writing was for the most part lovely; however, they lack structure, which might be the point but it is clearly not my cup of tea.

I have previously loved some of Kawakami's work, but I think this was just too weird for me, which is saying something. It's too all over the place for me to manage to gather it together and really get anything from it, unfortunately.
